  1. I lean to Pelt as, I think, as Steph mentioned, the ends of the ribbons on a Figure 8 come together. But, as in the upper left couple in this picture that Winnie had posted back in 2010 of Figure 8's - .....?
  2. A little add-on here. There are marble collectors (sellers) that do come to the show only and that is the only time you will see them. There are deals to be made. Plus, there are local people that come by with their marbles (from their folks, grandfolks, barn finds....) wanting to sell them. Many good deals have been found.
  3. Nice ones - keeping his kids out of the sun.
  4. All three look like Akro Corkscrews.
  5. Great reminder of that dig. Nice pics and information. Thank you all.
  6. Good luck on your surgery and heal quickly.

Top one is odd. If it had a green patch at either end, I'd say MK. Probably some other foreign type.
  8. I think that might fit into the foreign "figure 8" category.
  9. Jobber boxes is correct. Could be filled with any marbles although Champion is one of the more common types that you will see in them. That is what I think are in the one box. The other was probably used to store someone's "other" marbles - neat German handmade in there. By the way, WVS means West Virginia Swirl.
  10. I agree. I think I remember when she first started on this Board but it was a long time ago. As Ron says, with the ups and downs, she has stuck in there and helped many, many collectors learn more about marbles, marble history and related items.
  11. That $2 is probably in the ballpark.
  12. Nice corkscrews but I don't see "wispy white & clear" to make popeyes. I especially like the black, orange & white ones.
  13. Probably a Vacor (Mega) Red Devil.
  14. If you know the people who are selling marbles on the Facebook Marble pages that allow sales, you should be in good shape. Also, as sort of a policing measure, if there is a problem on a FB sale, it gets posted on the page and that seller is toast for selling more - unless they correct the problem. But, as Ron says, no "insurance", etc. except if you pay by Paypal using goods and services (not family, friends), that will give you some protection.
  15. Very nice - great shipment to receive.
  16. The cellophane types, like the ones at the bottom of my pic, do not sag. The poly types would.
  17. Great info, by the way, Craig. Thanks for sharing.
  18. I think the bottom two in this portion of my display case are ones from Post.
  19. Well, since I collect bags and boxes of marbles besides some individual types, I have about 60 copy paper boxes full. That is a bit heavy.
