  1. Very hard to tell it is not a Vacor from those pics. Sorry.
  2. And some of the so called Czech mibs have been found at a German site and I believe many of the modern ones are made in Germany.
  3. Rarity usually spawns the price and The simplest explanation would be the container(box in this case) was almost always disposed of. Marbles went into bags at home and store keepers usually tossed the empties. It went on for quite a while. A wrapper from the original Beatles trading cards is worth more than any of the cards. Nowadays collectors are wise to this so original packaging is much more common. Here is a early 30s catalog to see some of what was available.
  4. It would be nice to see some of the old timers start posting again. From the ones I still communicate with I honestly believe if there was less posting about how what or why others post what they do some would still be posting. Most folks just do not like to be judged. Especially for something posted on a marble board!
  5. OH OH! Now you mention Smitty(LOL) Heard they had fun!!
  6. I know I said there have been some very vintage looking mibs made. And they seem to be getting more vintage looking. I hope they do not do it intentionally, that there was some talk about a more vintage look, but I don't remember anyone saying that they had already intentionally made anything to look vintage. Maybe another case of reading things that are not there or did someone else say they had? And I do remember someone even made and used a machine to try to make corkscrews. They reset things a bit to make more flames so maybe some would consider these attempts to make more vintage looking marbles?? And I know some of the folks involved have discussed attempting to do it.
  7. Produced in far fewer numbers they are a tougher find for sure.
  8. Love the marbles Bill!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Any pics or talk about old marbles is always appreciated Bill.
  10. There is a Board just for Jabos and they have some good pics. I bet they would love some new posts and support. And they are even Galen Free. The board for Jabos
  11. Anyone else have some pics of these odd Masters. Sort of like a Master Made-Master Glass hybrid. Little bit like a Tiger-eye type ribbon in the center with brushed like surface,
  12. glass is actually harder than steel. Using that type of calipers shouldn't cause any problems. Unless using them for hammers and beating the marble with them(LOL)
  13. I just wish the target he uses wasn't my picture(LOL)
  14. Interesting, why would the parrots be tigereyes. I thought the swirl Vitros of the parrot era were much later than tigereyes????
