  1. Question/ Does anyone take into account the "Buyers Premium" when bidding and does this just mean less money to the seller?
  2. He may have meant the red on white transitionals that many confuse for American Agates

  6. The earliest auctions I attended had a buyers premium of 5% but it went to the seller to help offset their fees. That was a while ago. The fees have absolutely gotten rediculous. The rich get richer and the poor just get screwed
  7. Machine ground agates do not show faceting under any amount of magnification

  14. Moved Pop in with me about 6 years ago, Since then he has had a 3rd degree heart block leading to a pacemaker, Then bladder cancer that he beat. Next came Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Chemo that he tolerated very well. Then Radiaton than has now possibly caused lung and heart problems, So I do still work and take care of him (will be getting some Hospice help) which will be limiting my escape time to the marble world. They have given him 6 months so I may be a pretty busy guy for a while. Prayers are welcome, He is a WWII vet and was a tail gunner radio man on a Grumman Avenger Torpedo Bomber off the Aircraft Carrier Shangri La and has led a full and wonderful life. Hopefully My Sis and I can help him to his next big adventure with a bit a grace, Sorry for the downer but most of you I consider friends so I thought you would not mind me posting this.
  15. Absolutely no recollection of that show?????
  16. You folks do great!! I know I have had to accept a much lower quality in my marble pics than what I believe I should be able to achieve.
  17. And it is just what a cobra should be. One stream of color(s) fat at one end ending in a nice tail at the other. Most so called Guinea cobras are not.
  18. Not seeing the melted pontil for one of Harveys marbles. Can you take a pic with flash so there are no reflections? The marble is very hard to see.
  19. I could not say they are not CAC transparent swirls.
