About 2-3 months ago,i turned this problem over to a special marble detective. Lots of letters have came back,some leads and some new info. Still in the works,ongoing. Research has a lot of dead ends but one live end can sometimes solve it. I may have to send another payment of marbles to the detective,to keep them on the payroll,LOL!

The children who attend the WVMCC show May 8,will be playing a variety of marble games. They also will be using Jabo and Marble King marbles. The Jabo marbles will be a variety of the special runs from the last couple years. They will all go home with a good selection of Jabo special run marbles. Plus many other marble related prizes. Myself,Dave McCullogh and Walt Mckee will supply the marbles. Kids still like to play marbles,given the chance. The Jabo special run marbles roll fine.

Dayton is about 3hrs from me. I have been through there a few times already this year. I will be through there again in early June going to and from Amana. Also in Dayton again early August. Just remind me,if you still need the help.

Now,if we just has some history to go with them. Who,where,when,what company?????

Thanks EVERYONE! I had a great day but this even made it better yet. I have been gone and on the road a lot. Working on 3-4 marble projects at the same time. Plus two local marble shows in the next two weeks. I will catch up here someday when possible. THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure that i get all this. I have seen,had,and own marbles that i still get confused about. I have and had marbles that has changed spots or makers,two or maybe three times,in my collection. I bought,acquired or kept the marble because i liked it,was curious about it,it was odd,rare,filled a spot for a certian type,etc. I guess that is why my collection grows to large. Maybe,i should specialize in one company or type. I have tried that,but not much success. With a good variety,i never have a danger of getting bored with marbles. I can always find a marble that catches my eye,or makes me wonder,how,why,when? Why does a marble drop in value from $400.00 to $10.00 just because it is newer? Did the marble itself change that much? If i buy a mint or nm+ antique auto for $25,000.00 and it ends up being a 2010,it is still worth $25,000.00 or near it. Why do certian things only have a good value when they are old? Numbers produced or is it the numbers lost? Is a item only rare with age? This is not the first confusion or misidentification of marbles. I don't think it will be the last. It will happen again and not only with Jabo. Hopefully it will work out,with a honest person,for most. Just like it has recently. For some it will not. But,we should hope there is more good than bad in this world. I can fill your hands with WV swirls that are easily confused with one another. Comparison should be a learning tool,not a disappointment,or fear. Have a nice weekend. I am off to Baltimore and DC.

Each day as the show gets closer,i get more good news. All of that sounds like a lot to unload and carry to your room. I will have to check on which room number you have. I will have a cart ready and be watching for that taxi. But you probably will not want to haul all that weight to the room??? Maybe i can give you a hand,and you won't have to! Uhmmm lets see now,Bill and Ric probably will be late thursday,better yet maybe friday. Dang it,Bruce will be here wednesday,so will Danny,Chuck & Diane. There sould be some tour or site remaining that they need to see on wednesday or thursday afternoon. Howard could show them around. Bill always has to go find a atm. Make myself a note to stop by bank for cash. What day or time will you arrive? No don't bother,just pm me that info. I will be glad to help,just find me quick when you arrive. LOL,LOL,LOL!!!!!!!! I forgot,Ric will be busy getting the WV cane or marble walking stick from Daine A.(thats good). Forgot about the baseball bat man. Have to make some notes tonight,gotta go! Who else?????? I must be getting more valuable each day(sure). As i am getting more and more vintage each day. The big change for this marble was age.

What are the opinions on which are spinner or shifter knobs? One is round like a pool ball. The other is round but more flat and usually has two grouves around the middle. The $65.00 is a average price for a vintage one. They can be more depending on colors,pattern and condiion.

About 100-120 miles south. No good news yet. The clock is running out. Everything that is possible,is being done.

The Cairo show is May 1,2010. Of course,i am biased and do not want any conflict. They are both nice shows. It depends on what you are looking for in a show? Cairo show is somewhat smaller but lots of history is exchanged. It is a small hometown community show,with local marble people. A few make the trip from out of state each year. It is a close knit group with most who return each year. Average 12-15 tables of dealers. The Sistersville show and the WVMCC show came about after this one. From what i have now,the friday night get togther has been moved to Weston at the glass museum. It is about 1 1/2 hr drive away. There is no in room trading at this show. Lodging is limited. The WVMCC show is the normal,in room trading wed,thur,friday at the hotel. Marble games for the children. All the conviences near by. A wide range of marbles and dealers. Best maybe 35-40 dealer tables,slow times maybe 20-25 dealer tables. WVMCC annual club meeting and officers election,friday evening. Silent auction items. Dealers from different states. The cut off date for the blocked rooms together for the marble group was April 6. Saturday show in the conference room,in the hotel Check the flyer in the show information. Both are short distances from many of the old marble factory sites. Fenton Glass is nearby and gives tours,etc. Jabo is also nearby. You never know who may show up at both or either show. Past company owners,relatives,workers,etc. Come join the fun ! I plan to spend a lot of time at both.

How big is that Claudia? Are you sure it is not Vacor,LOL! I knew i left those Kokomo,s someplace.

I just returned home and with more marbles,late yesterday. It may not be the oldest or largest show,but QUALITY all over. Great people and a very nice time. I was lucky enough to see some very large,wide range and QUALITY collections in the neighborhood. Thanks to Chuck G. and everyone.

Head to WV for the May 8th show near Parkersburg. NY is not that far. I am going 12-14hrs away to a show this week.

Yes,a new tank would probobably have to be built. The machine may need some cleanup and repair,but can be done. It all goes back to the money. There has been lots of interest in the past of making a one inch run,but one key word has not made it possible,money. It could happen yet,all it takes is the interest,the money,and the gamble. Dave will supply the advice,experience and what is needed to lessen the gamble. It may be done yet??????

Another missing puzzel piece. That keeps marbles new and interesting,always searching. Someday someone will get more and more pieces and fit them in place. I see more missing pieces than i will ever have time to complete. There has been many changes in thoughts the last several years. I am sure we are not done yet. Still scratching my head also.

Congratulations Rebecca,Will and Bill. Bill McCaleb mibcapper has a new grandson. A new baby boy. It wasn't as planned but all are doing fine now. Put the marbles up out of reach for a while. When are you getting that rocking chair?
