akronmarbles
Cool old Milton Bradley "Down and Out" marble game. Dates to around 1914 based off of Butler Brothers catalog listing.

I'llhavethat1
Cool, any marbles come with? 1914 would be pretty early for American marbles so it would be interesting to see...
akronmarbles
No marbles came with it when I acquired it. A 5/8" marble would go down it no problem. Milton Bradley was a customer of M.F. Christensen & Son Co. Here is an ad for the same Down and Out game from 1906 - I have several versions of this model as well. Berryb
display my eye, I'd be playin' with it. I can see it now: who does the dishes, mows the lawn, takes out the garbage.. let's roll for it. Bruce
Marbleized
I was thinking that someone should reintroduce this game now that marble racing is becoming a thing. I'd play with it. A lot of teachers might have students play with it, too. Cool!
akronmarbles
Here's a few more. I have been chasing these for about 30 years. Small one left front with the face on the tower is German. Paul Baumann's 2nd edition has one like this pictured on the rear cover if memory serves me correctly. The metal banded example is probably the first version of the game made by Milton Bradley - 1890's. The three other wooden tower examples all date to around 1905 and are what is shown in the last ad I shared.
Marbleized
Great collection!! I probably wouldn't be able to resist playing with it if I had one! My favorite is the spirally tower with the solid cup. I would think you'd have to go to an auction to find these. I've never seen them in a shop or at a flea. Thanks for sharing your photos! I'llhavethat1
Those are all amazing. Left front looks a lot older is it wood or something else? So, what's the high score?

bumblebee
Those are fun and colorful. If they came with marbles, I assume most came with clays or slags?
greenvwbug
Just found one of these, was curious about it and found this thread, looks like the older 1920’s cardboard game but the older base was in the box too,no tower for the older one..but still a cool find
