Berryb
Stephen Bahr just released a video; "Ten Coolest Marbles". Not only is it a good video (Mr. freeze should be getting a call from Hollywood soon), I thought it was a good idea. I went through my pile and picked out these. It was a lot tougher than I thought it would be, especially narrowing it down from the final 20 or so. I decided to hold it to 1 slag, 1 cork etc. and this is what I ended up with. This is a challenge to everyone to pick your ten coolest. Here are mine in no particular order. 1) Vitro, 29/32nds, coral, black, white. Reflective of my changing tastes, a year ago I wouldn't give Vito, MK etc, a second glance. 2) Pelt swirl, 13/16ths, coral, brown, blue, in a clear green base. 3) Ox and green cork, 11/16ths 4) CAC swirl 5/8ths 5) Akro patch 5/8ths. six distinct colors plus blends. 6) Rebel hybrid 19/32nds. red, blue, black, brown stripes on a translucent white base. 7) Furnace? Yellow with red pinstripes in a translucent greyish base. 8 electric yellow slag 29/32nds 9) Aventurine swirl 9/16ths 10) cobalt glass swirl, 17/32nds

Al Oregon
Same here - I take very few individual pics of my marbles - mainly because I primarily collect packaging - I have pics of all those 3500+ bags and boxes.
Marbleized
Wow! I love the CAC and the Aventurine marbles! It will be cool to see what you long time collectors consider your top 10! I will probably see marbles that I've never heard of again. Maybe I'll come up with my beginner's top 10. LOL!

Steph
Okay, I have been procrastinating hugely. Well, actually not so much. I've actually been getting a lot done, but it's been other things than marbles WHILE hobbling around on two injured legs from two separate accidents! I don't have my ten coolest marbles chosen yet, but at least one of these Alley Tater Bugs has to be in that list! So since I found this picture for Chad's thread ... 10) Alley Tater Bug
Steph
Maybe I'll bump the thread 9 more times.
Berryb
Is a chartreuse base glass the defining characteristic of a "tater bug"? They're nice but I don't think I've even heard of them before. I guess I get to dump all my marbles again and look for a tater bug. thanks Bruce
Steph
I don't know about THE defining trait. I have most if not all of the color combos covered up there. They're dug marbles from Pennsboro.

Berryb
I know it may be the ultimate in gauche to bump my own thread but here it is. I still think it's a fun exercise. Remember, you are your own arbiter of Cool, so if your 10 coolest are all cat's eyes or corkscrews so be it. Whatever floats yer boat. Bruce The Alley Spruce I believe to be a very under rated mib, one of my first Alley's and if I seen another mint one I would buy it, and on and on, One of my very favorite marbles, a lot of good memories.
