The "Score!" thread. Post your exciting finds here...

This isn’t really a score as it was free. I went down to Paden City and was in the park and not sure if the park was doing maintenance or what, but below the railroad tracks and in the park looked like maybe they were doing pipe work or something and there was loads of MK cullet and marbles just sitting on the surface and considering it’s public property I figured it was fair game to pick stuff off the surface. Haven’t cleaned any of it yet.  Didn’t find any great marbles but some of the cullet was pretty cool.

On a sidenote, is any of the alley factory still left? I saw that there is an abandoned factory right next to and north of the MK factory. Is that where alley was? Or maybe it was formerly in the MK factory building, not sure.

Just got this “spotted dick” marble. I believe they were made in Germany originally from the same time period the German handmades were being produced. But considering their name is spotted dick, than perhaps they were made in England.

Thanks. I don’t know much about them. Were they made in Germany during the time period the glass handmades were? Or are they earlier, like 1860s?

Don’t know dating but the “spotted Dick” is humorous.  It is a UK pudding in a can, you can also buy “spotted Dick with Cream”. My wife lost it in the grocery store when I showed her a can🤣🤣🤣

Had an awesome day at the canton marble show. But what was even more awesome is that afterwards I went down to an antique store and asked if they had any marbles. He was like well I have many jars in the back that I’ve had for 30 years and never wanted to sell them. But for some reason he decided to sell them to me. The individual bag is just some stuff from the top of one of the jars, and it’s all mint. It’s going to take me forever to look through all the marbles and can’t wait.

Sorry to be posting so much tonight, this is just so exciting. Haven’t found this many good jars for a while. Here’s everything dumped out. I’m sure there will be some pretty big heartbreakers in here but I’ve already pulled out a lot of really nice mint stuff.

“many jars in the back” would perk my interest through the roof!

those pelts are great.

Here’s some of the mint stuff I’ve gone through with the jars I got today. 3 yasuda marbles, 2 faceted agates, loads of awesome vitros, some super nice akros, a nice CAC, pelts, alleys etc.

The second pic is of a marble I didn’t even know existed, appears to be a vitro caged cateye but never seen the blue base glass before.
