Hi Art ! I think there should have been a yellow insert cover with Akro trade mark on it? but inside over top cover is plane cardboard! I will take a picture nice to here from you hope everything is going good, I am getting over covid for the second time ugh!!! feeling much better though

You may be thinking of any earlier version of these boxes. I have one of these in each size. #300, #250, and #230. There are no inserts in any of them under the cover on the inside. Just plain cardboard.

I may have seen one or two like this with a stamp inside but no insert.

Hope this helps--I think yours is complete except for the pouch.

These boxes came with a variety of pouches, some were "Leatherized Plastic". Some were just older plastic and some were a larger weaved fabric that came in a varity of solid colors. You will see them in images with a bunch of different pouches. Stick to the older books to get a better idea of what is right.

Very nice buy for sure!

A box w/~1,100 mibs for $25, couldn’t pass it up.

first we have a matching pair of rare purple sulphides, with what appears to be string imbeds??🤣🤣🤣 (looks like some parent reached their clacking limit.)

boatload of Vitro and cats eyes (3 purple) no tricolor superiors.

a good amount of MK

not a single AKRO

couple Pelt Rainbos

2 monster steelies.

money well spent.35E99D5C-4480-4BD0-93E0-404F50C41935.thumb.jpeg.92f9df357aa93986a8eb61c56ea137ab.jpeg4F6BFBAA-EF8B-487F-A3B2-525701AE3971.thumb.jpeg.03682ea650ab8b533740d8e3d5e90fd8.jpeg0CDC9845-F02B-46F8-9DDB-7862B7443EFD.thumb.jpeg.964cbd97e0d058b9d7861194c0453ec1.jpeg94DD826E-13FB-4206-881E-0C13F0E7001B.thumb.jpeg.ce01c5fb923624ce486ed8c05dca8828.jpeg7871420A-B62E-412A-A7DE-F6D1E2EFBAE5.thumb.jpeg.ecb4c65ead4a14d75d73aae13677a50e.jpeg

Nice find and but regardless--check your ID on these "sulpides"

The last image may have an Akro at the very top.
The two yellows next to the big firkin “steelies”--check them for opalescence—they may be Akro “Flinties”.
Nice buy—nice find!!!

This isn’t a recent score, but I got these marbles in Jan 2020 (before I joined this forum and had at that point only been collecting marbles for a little over year). I was visiting my grandma who was 92 at the time, now she’s 94 and still kicking. I happened to bring up to her that I collect marbles and she was like oh, well I have some of your grandpas marbles in the basement. He grew up in the 30s and 40s and died in the 60s, way well before I was born. I obviously never knew him. But it was super awesome that I could now have his marbles from when he was a kid and nearly all in the fishbowl were in mint condition. These in the photos are the mint ones.

Pretty sure the moonie in the second photo is a CAC moonie but I’ve never been able to confirm it. But it could be an Akro too. Not sure.

Cool Akro I found in the wild today.

Nice find Melissa--not an Akro but a hand-gathered "Japanese" transitional. I have read some postings just lately about some Canadian marbles—I wonder if?

I’m not going to call this a score. These are marbles that were gifted to me today . . .

That's a very nice gift. The hand on this header cracks me up every time I see it. 😄

I wonder what @Al Oregon knows about this bag. I have definitely seen this Keasbey and Mattison Co. bag before but I've forgotten what I knew about it. lol

That's a cool pinch pontil transitional, Melissa. I agree it looks a bit different than most of the creased pontil Japanese types I am familiar with . . .

That is a very nice keepsake collection! And CAC Moonies are dense and granular-looking with a distinct bluish tint so I am thinking Akro for yours.
