Black Pelt Cat's Eyes

I heard they never made them.

I have never seen any in packaging.  I have seen black (or very dark purple) banana style cat's-eyes but not Peltier.

I was under the impression that they were Master.  But I was also under the impression that "we" knew this from seeing them in packaging.  

Now I have to do some digging to see why I thought so, but if Al and Ron don't remember them in packaging then I am pessimistic!

Not all bananas.  But this is an example of why if I were to find a black banana, I would expect it to have been from Master.

My packaging comment referred to Peltier packaging.  I have seen ones in Master packaging like the one shown.

Hi, I have black cats eyes, some are clear glass and some have blizzard bubbles in them

That bubbly black  one is making me think of Bogard.    Could it be?

I think so. Bubbly base glass vs. Master's clear base glass.

I have several C.E. Bogard bags with black cat's-eyes.  Here's one.

These appear to be Peltier black or very dark purple cat-eyes,they can be found.

I find alot of these in my catseyes, someone told me they are 5 fingers?

Pretty tough to shoot a pic of but I went through all my cats and found only 2 that are even close to black. Turn them one way it seems brownish, another way a hint of purple. Base glass makes it a little tougher too tell. I tried 😊

I need to dump these out, but they are mostly catseyes (vitro I think?) There are one with blended color veins, like 3 colors

Fingers is a term more commonly used in (8 finger Vitro marbles, different from cats) cats have vane and go by distinct names caged, banana, hybrid cat, etc.

Just trying to eliminate any confusion, many collectors have nicknamed some marbles but certain hopefully "permanent"  names have been given, some have changed & continue to change with time & I've found it takes almost continual monitoring to keep up.

I got two bananas for the price of one. (Still a banana, right?) Also, is this a vitro or foreign? Glass is clear (yellow tinge is coming from the walls reflecting a little sun). Is this a common thing? Thanks.

I think their called anacordians or something like that. Besides the vitro and St. Marys (crosses) I think their called. I have gigantic tubes full of super rare catseyes in my garage. I took them to a marble show the year I got them and some people told me they are very rare color patterns, I guess they are pretty valuable. I got them off some really old German guy who was clearing out a big old house to move back to Germany. He told me just take them.

Who would have thought that a cateye would be so valuable. But, they even have an entire book dedicated to these. To be respected and definitely not be overlooked.
