crashbelt
Here's a board I bought from a Canadian collector decades ago! Basic fruitwood or pine board with nice set of 9/16" swirls and onions with many same canes. I like these simple examples just as much as the rarer boards with spectacular mibs. 3 2

crashbelt
Here's another board with swirls - nice 20mm size. Most were original to the board but I had to add a few to complete it - can't remember which now!!
akroorka
Here are a few that I sorted out of some recent purchases. I do not believe that I have had an “Unglazed China” before this—maybe, the clays etc. go to my wife for her displays—I lose track then. The Handmade glass one—pretty nice. I am just not into them and I would trade it for any corkscrew in a minute. Who does not like a Bennington, The Chickadees’ of the marble world; everyone likes them—Am I wrong? If someone told me “take one for free”—I would take the “Bennie”. Each to their own—this is why we all like this stuff, we are all different in our tastes but we still all get along rather well in this forum. I appreciate all that collect these cute little orbs no matter their favorites. I try to stay on top of it all—I never will but I will continue to try. I contribute to any post when I can. Marble—On!! 3

crashbelt
Can't beat cobalt blue micas on an Ayres compendium board. Just over pee wee size. 4 1
crashbelt
Sometimes Ayres used a mix of coloured pee wee micas on their compendium boards. 3

akroorka
This one is obviously not polished. The one end does resemble one that has been polished though. Keep your eyes open and look at all of them to get a better idea of what is and what is not. Study them all!! Marble—On!!
crashbelt
A boxed Chad Valley solitaire set with almost certainly original pee wees. The board is very crudely made stained pine. But the marbles are nicely made, including 2 same cane red latts in divided ribbon form and 2 same cane alternating blue/white latts. I've seen this kind of quality mismatch before on later period Chad Valley sets.

Funny thing is that I didn't spot the alternating blue/white latts until I received the board and looked really close up at the 2 marbles.
