  1. Moons on the moon, very creative. I like it!
  2. I think it looks related to this one . . .
  3. Nice Alley, It looks like white in a colored-trans base, a middlings example of the Calligraphy style I'd say . . .
  4. Nice Multicolor Swirls . . . here's one with extra color.
  5. Great thread . . . A Flaming Red Zebra . . . or a cool Rainbo. lol
  6. Rainbos are so cool - endless variety. Here's one of my oddballs.
  7. Really, Craig . . . what a sweet assortment of marbles - nice find!
  8. Happy Birthday, Edna! I hope you had a great one.
  9. If you are, Winnie, you won't be going alone. lol
  10. I don't know about yours, Winnie. But based on some CACs I've seen, I think it's possible to be both . . . handgathered and "seamed".
  11. Wow! What a fantastic piece of glass - probably one of the most interesting I've seen. Thanks a lot for showing it!
  12. FWIW, they look like American Agates to me. Although, I do find it interesting how much variation there is in those described as such. I've seen handgatherd, swirled, seamed, and a pretty wide range of colors/hues and base glasses called American Agates. Was there really that much variation in what CAC called AAs? It makes me wonder if it was more of a brand name to CAC, rather than a specific type of marble.
  13. I didn't know there were such beasts . . . sorta just called it like I saw it. I've never seen another so I'm guessing they're not real common. Anyone else have examples?
  14. I was thinking Navarre too, before I picked it up and found two pontils. But I think Navarre are hand gathered, with a single pontil. I think this one is cane cut . . . maybe it's just a "Jaw Breaker", and the uncommon purple color distracted me from that possibility.
  15. slag??? I've never seen another quite like it . . . two pontils, 25/32", very dark purple, but you can get some light through it, very little white in/on it, sorta caramelish or mellonballish or . . . strange. Any thoughts? Thanks. P.S. That is not damage in the lower left shot . . . it's as-made . . . thin white glass.
  16. How common are ground pontils on typical German swirl types? If possible, pics would be great. Thanks.
  17. Hey Howard, The Indianapolis show is usually the weekend after New Years Day, I think the 2011 show will be on the 8th with room trading likely starting on the 6th. The Kokomo show is usually the weekend after Labor Day, which I think will make it September 10th in 2011, with room trading starting the 8th. But you might just want to keep an eye on the calendar link at the Indiana Marble Club's Home Page, just to be sure.
  18. I see nothing but Peltier, either. And pretty nice ones too.
  19. There is also a good show in Indianapolis in early January, which might be a reasonable drive for you if the weather cooperates.
