If the slurry is thick enough they won't "crash" together, but I agree that a rock tumbler is NOT a way to treat a marble. Tommy, I'm still curious in hand does this marble look spherical with original surface? My eyes aren't getting any younger and it could just be the photo's/reflections playing tricks with me.

The pictures make it look a bit out of round, almost as if hand polished or rock tumbler. Might be what's throwing things off.

nice score.

Back in the day I'd sometimes get "unknowns" in with a group of marbles picked up here and there. My thought process (arguably flawed) would be to consider whatever manufacturers outside of the US were making marbles in a "similar" style to the OP, and where the vast majority were made (and where those countries exported to). Just my opinion and not to take away from some good points already made.

Those are pretty cool, and it's nice to have examples to compare "unknown" ones to, like Ron mentioned it's a good learning tool. -
nice marbles! I've seen onionskins open up like that near end of cane so I'm not yet convinced it's buffed/polished. If original that's a very nice marble with the mica and all. I think the term "end of day" is more of a myth when applied to marbles, although a fitting term for other types of glass manufacturing where you used up what you had left and made whimsy items (like turtles for example).

Alley was my first thought for both, although I don't know enough about these types of swirls. And bummer on the Panther but there does look like a blue/white Pelt below it which might be worth a new post for comment

Hard to say, is there a size? Looks to be two distinct cutlines...I probably would have waffled on CAC but Euro is another possibilty

I for one, like to see some members posting again. Been a lot to learn over the years, and in my early days on the Forum, it's worth a thank-you for the knowledge that's been shared and gained during that time.

Looks kinds Pelty to me

No need to apologize. My photo's are less than stellar . I meant more the lighting, and how the green appeared in a couple of those pics. 9" circumference then? That's a huge marble. Diameter would help narrow it down but I still wouldn't rule out MFC
-
What is the actual size? OP says 9"? To me it looks like MFC. Pictures are wonky, probably showing a green tinge etc that aren't really there.
