  1. I don't remember ever hearing that before.
  2. Congrats! I do like the swirl in the middle, the one you posted in the ID forum. The green, brown and yellow one might turn out to be one which Vitro collectors are fond of. The Vitro Black-Eyed Pea. But don't quote me on that. Need confirmation.
  3. I think that's an Alley Agate. From the 30's or 40's.
  4. Steph

    Akro Heaven

Glad you enjoyed! Yikes. Those are photobucket links, from before photobucket went nuts. I need to change those.
  5. Sounds like the Decorah cameras are nearing the time when they will be turned off for the season. The kids may stay around for another couple of months learning how to be eagles but there's less and less to be seen in camera range. Still we got a nice view of Mom and two of the kids looking out over Trout Creek this morning. The father disappeared this spring. He was around 21 years old, which is old for an eagle. But he wasn't showing signs of ill health. He simply vanished without warning. There's another male who has been staying near the family nest without getting too close The Decorah website says courting generally happens around October. So we hope there will be a new eagle family soon but it is not certain.
  6. I'll have to leave that question to someone else. I think hard-ish. Craig, are you around? @spara50
  7. This is the only picture I'm finding right now. Used to have others. Another branded marble from over there is Ajax. These belong to @StéphaneFrance
  8. You gotta put a Bonux branded sparkler on your wishlist.
  9. Do you have any European sparklers? or whisplers?
  10. Now I feel bad that I didn't catch that. But not too bad. Hey, we could have started a new rumor about where these marbles really come from.
  11. I did not doubt it! Very festive.
  12. that one is frothy ... nice
  13. Well, that's another "awwwwwww". That's a cute one too.
  14. Hello there! Welcome. That's a wild effect in your marble. I take it that's a double ingot?
  15. The only marbles I know of in regular production at that size are Vacors. I simply cannot think of anything else.
  16. I don't mind. I like revisiting mysterious marbles. 1.83 inches. I wasn't sure what we said about it before, but when I did the size conversion, I became fairly sure what we would have said. At that size I can only think of one option. I could hope it was some super rare dug Akro, but that is huge, so it leaves me with only one practical choice. ( @Alan, it's not some super rare dug Akro, is it? )
  17. I presume it was an intentional play on "MIB". But I don't remember anyone confirming that. I love it if it's an elaborately-produced yet obscure pun which hardly anyone in the world was expected to get. Well, I love it anyway, but I want to know what the writers were thinking.
  18. I think I see a little bit of a structural clue at the cutline in the marble in the top left corner. But if they hadn't been mixed in with modern foreign marbles, I might not have guessed.
  19. The rest of the marbles in the photo are foreign. So I am inclined to think the black and white ones are also. Possibly in the Vacor Old Fashion family. https://www.billes-en-tete.com/detail.php?id=99
