  1. Would you guys mind sharing the trick with the rest of us?
  2. It looks like a Hybrid Marble King from my monitor. Sami
  3. i recently saw fishing advertising signs that were the same way at an antique shop. i think they are legit and rare. sami
  4. From the auction pictures it looks like the white is too thin for an early Peltier. I vote for a WV swirl. Sami
  5. i would believe those super rare apricot, lavender etc. transparent based striped transparents were made by christensen. the company lived a short life and these marbles bring decent money to bother to sell. so, they keep showing up on ebay and shows. what i am having hard time to believe is the story that they were found underslab in mint plus condition. sami
  6. to me bottomline, these gorgeous one of a kind christensens are in too good of a condition to be dug. it is not clear to me if they came out of one or few collections or from underslab.
  7. i voted old. no wonder these cause all kinds of confusion. i still think they are old.
  8. I think there is a good chance that it is Peltier. Gorgeous marble no matter who made it. Sami
  9. This is just bad news. Very sorry to hear that. John was a very good friend and sport at every show I attended. The legend says he would go to the shows without any money and without any marbles. He would go back home with cash and top shelf marbles. He will be very much missed. Rest in peace John! Sami
  10. Edna, Thanks so much for doing this for me. I don't know how I can pay you back. Those are just absolutely gorgeous marbles. Looking forward to receive them when you are ready to ship. I'll send a PM for details shortly. Regards, Sami
  11. Are there any cutlines that we could see? Also, what is the size of the marble? It is hard to believe this marble would come out of a Peltier machine, but what do I know what could be done. They do amazing stuff at Jabo, although the machines are not same to compare. Every Peltier I saw up to date has cutlines and ribbons, except early Millers and some unusual swirls. Sami
  12. Bruce was one of the good guys. He will be missed greatly. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace Bruce with all the Golden Rebels. Sami
  13. Craig, The only fact that I have are marbles in hand and you will not get any more hard facts than that unless someone with a lot of time in their hands do a lot of research. They may still come up empty handed regarding detailed documentation of any old marbles. Sami
  14. Craig, Technically they are 4 color and 3 color clear NLRs respectively. 4 color is from the Fruit Cocktail family imo. Nice, early Peltiers. Sami
  15. Good to know Charles. I was about to give a call to the number included in the email. Sami
  16. Wasn't that what Galen has been trying to make a point off and got his head chopped off every time? Sami
  17. If you are looking antique handcut agates, email me @ [email protected]. Sami
  18. I am running short on words. He was one of the legendary marble collector that I know. Marble collecting was in his blood. My condolences go to his family and friends. Rest in peace Bo! Sami
  19. Mibs, Just for clarification you requested, I am not sure how many marbles are there, but your first post shows all Spidermans,if they are not transparent. I don't think there is any question there. Hope this answers your question. Sami
  20. I know of blue base with orange/red ribbons, green based with orange/red ribbons Submarines. They look opaque until backlit, which reveals a transparent base. I also know of Wasps with transparent red base when backlit and black aventurine ribbons. That could place them in Submarine category I guess. These are definitely early NLR type marbles not later Rainbos. Late Rainbos have many types that would be similar in construction but not in final result. Sami
  21. Chuck, Absolutely gorgeous Peltier and a very rare one. I have one in my collection that came from Landon's personal collection. There maybe some with aventurine out there. I think it is a very short run Multicolor swirl with extra colors. I'll try to take a picture if I have a free moment around here. Sami
  22. It is difficult to take it as a solid reference or proof of any historical fact. However, it is a good starting point. Still leaves out the question, if the noted Rainbows are earliest produced by Peltier or Miller swirls date these back. Thanks for showing it Steph. I enjoyed reading it. Sami
  23. Ooh yes Ted, absolutely! Chuck just wants to give us a holiday eyefest. Thanks for sharing Chuck! Sami
  24. Seller may be out of ideas how to show off his collection. I wouldn't go this route if I wanted to sell a collection this caliber. Sami
  25. Mike, Those are not common early Peltier swirls imo. I only found the same green and aqua and looking for other colors. Please bring them to the swap meet for us to take a look. Sami
