Nice Vitro's Liam, after many years I'm finally starting to get into them a bit more, they made some beautiful examples for sure !!

Just caught this new vid Stephen Bahr put out on YouTube last night & thought you'd enjoy it & it may answer a couple questions on glass & it's production for you as well as raise some, only a bit of marble production footage but some very historic clips on glass manufacture & uses !! No wonder I'm only finding one at a time Josh, you've cornered the market Although being here on the West coast may also play a role in it. Nobody here even knows what they are but a few I gander ?? I do have to admit I did run into a bunch of them some years ago and paid then no nevermind, "just some more cats" I thought, so, live & learn !!

Yesir !! ..... .....

It may have av. Dennis but w/ a damaged surface it'll make it nearly impossible to see even w/ a loupe.

I see some nice NLR's Dennis Peltier NLR Burnt Christmas tree Looks like an NLR wasp or Tiger ?? is there aventurine in the black ribbons ?? Superman The rest look to all be Pelt. Rainbo's including the yellow one. You certainly have a good start !!

So am I !! Confusing to say the least !!
-
They vary Brad, I have some w/ 6, I think they call those 6 finger, not to be confused w/ 6 finger Vitro (although the "name game" can get that way)
-
Slipped my mind !! But I will definitely be going to have a look see.
-
Yes !! I see Heaton in all four Bonnie, I'm curious , did you purchase some from any of the digs ?? I see a lot w/ fractures ??

Didn't know that William, we have white & green sturgeon here. All green sturgeon must be released unharmed in the water(they're on the endangered species list so a big fine for taking them out of the drink) We have to use barbless hooks so it's usually very easy. On the White sturgeon we have a yearly quota now, barbless hook only and only on certain days, the size slot is 45" - 52". When was a kid it was barbed hooks and the size limit was 36" - 6 foot, 3 per day, now we get only 2 per year. They used to be considered garbage fish and when the salmon fishermen caught them in their nets they dispatched them w/ a sledgehammer. Some of the best eating fish in the river, they range from here to Alaska and have even been caught over near Japan, so most are ocean going but always return to fresh water to spawn. Drat, probably good eating too !!

"Happy Peltier Tuesday All" Marble of the Day Peltier Blue Galaxy: Blue base w/ yellow and black ribbons swirling around it. I've never seen one of these with the classic NLR ribbon structure either in text or in hand. The black ribbons generally contain very copious amounts of aventurine. The marble itself, most of the time comes in a smaller size, around 19/32nds, though there are some slightly larger examples, & is considered a high end marble for the majority of collectors. Certainly a very high end Peltier. Pix courtesy of my friend Terry Middleton. Looks like a wonky Pelt Bruiser to me ?? Is the base glass dark green transparent when backlit ??

I also agree w Vitro

You're welcome

Both are 100% Champion Furnace marbles, never intended as a production marble, fractures are inherent in almost all of them because of the coefficient, (incompatibility between two types of glass, cooling at different rates causing fractures) especially certain colors.
