  1. This is my vision--- A youngster back in the 20-30's--male or female was playing with marbles in the living room. It was winter--just after Christmas. The house-cat got a-hold of one and it rolled down the cold air exchange and back into the coal fired furnace--Mom kept the cold air return quite clean back then. After an up-grade to a more affordable fuel oil furnacešŸ„¶šŸ˜. This marble was found. An Akro ā€œTurquoiseā€ slag. Yah, I dream about this stuff and have had it happen too. Just a dreamer-- Marbleā€”On!!
  2. X2 nice find!! Marble--On!!
  3. Nice "Parrot", The toe smashers are not easy to find with great coverage such as yours. Marble--On!!
  4. I have not posted this one for awhile--I call it elegant. I cannot recall the size--3/4"?? Straight on then backlit--Backlight them all! Marble--On!!
  5. I like this idea-- @Melissa ?? Marble--On!!
  6. The WVS are a sticky thing that I cannot get a grasp on--I just know one when I see them--the maker??--No luck here--so far. You are a respected member here and you know more than I can say in this limited text. No disrespect is intended. You already said your evaluation and I respect it along with the others that chimed in. You will step in where it is needed, that much I know. I respect all opinions and hope to see some more. Respect! Marble--On!!
  7. There are always exceptions Fireā€”this may or not be one of them. Marbleā€”On!!
  8. I would wait for some more opinions before making any judgment. Marble--On!!
  9. Akro marketed "Cardinal Reds" in a box marked as such in both slags and corkscrews--be carefull while looking. Killer marbles, both of the styles. Marble--On!!
  10. Akro imho, I appreciate all opinions--especially when it is snowing outā„ļø. Marble--On!!
  11. No name, I am not going to disagree that this one is a Master Made Marbleā€”nice bigger one. ā€œMicaā€ the term is reserved for antique ( or newer) handmade marbles imh-experience. Aventurine has been reserved for ā€œMachine Madeā€ Marbles as far as I know. This one shows what looks like ā€œMicaā€ā€”just unresolved or uncooked recipe glass. Pretty rare for Master Glass Made Marbles imhoā€”they cooked their glass pretty long looking to match the hand-madeā€™s of that era. I just love this stuffā€”reallyā€”nice marble Fire! Marbleā€”On!!
  12. LOL--- I remember--I still use them. I would call it a Pelt before I called it an Akro--just me though. All opinions are appreciated and welcomed. Marble--On!!
  13. The finish on the seams look MK to me--the yellow is quite anemic for Vitro--the blue is very deep for a MK of this type. Is that oxblood that is buried? I need some more opinions here before I can call it. Marble--On!!
  14. I would say Vitro just based on the base glass color--. More opinons are needed here. Marble--On!!
  15. Lets call in @Fire1981 and @Chad G.--this may just be a Pelt. Cool marble regardless of the ID. Marble--On!!
  16. Agreed Al--nice ID It is not mint--so few were--but in this color combo--not too shabby Nice find. Marble--On!!
  17. Killer marble! Cosmic Rainbo five fingered cat?? I have seen some pretty nice Cateyes before--this may be the best ever--Top Notch. It is not what I would consider as a normal Vitro Hybrid Cat--or even a special one--this one knocks out all contenders. It may have happened during a cross over from one type to another---well maybe--we were not there--just a best guess? The AV does not surprise me but it is an added bonus for sure. The color green in most makes and models of manufactured marbles will show a tendancy to have un-absorbed (is that a word?) minerals that were used in the recipe process. I know lighting is bad these day but I would love to see it in direct sunlight--at least through the window. Thanks for sharing this one. Marble--On!!
  18. Some blue--some pink?--Nice marble--consider Cairo. Lets ask @cheese for an opinion here. Maybe @Ric is around again, he knows his swirls very well. This is a nice one regardless of the maker. Marble--On!!
  19. Vacor Roosters--love em, These were and are made in a variety of runs and the colors that I show are just a small example of the shades and fill. Some of these base colors I could swear are orange. They all have one thing in commonā€”the lack of a bubble filled base glass. The red is very clear and well made while the white has a tendency to run or melt/spread on the surface. The Vacor website claims that these have ā€œOrange Swirlsā€ but I have not seen any on the surfaceā€”just buried under the ā€œRedā€. I will include an image of akro vs theseā€”the last one. Marbleā€”On!!
  20. Good luck! That last image--just a very nice pelt--all are nice but this one is one that I have not seen before-- Very cool Tommy. Marble--On!!
  21. I am getting Vitro ā€œConquerorā€ vibes here. More opinions are needed and welcomed. Marbleā€”On!!
  22. @Chad G.may have the answer here. The "ground" Pontil appears to have been melted too. The other side--the twist is more than likely melted also. Just mho-- Marble--On!!
  23. Different--I will just throw this out there--- Jabo--in the production days--made some pretty ugly big swirls--just sayin. Marble--On!!
  24. I agree with Vitro--I just cannot pin it down too close--"Trilite" of some form imho. Nice marble! Nice images--- Marble--On!!
  25. You did a good sorting job here. The first image deserves a better background--white or gray. Marble--On!!
