  1. You can read all kinds of numbers or letters from the patterns on the marbles. Unless they are contemporary marbles specifically made with number or letters, they are accidental. Some people do collect these odd patterns. Here is my "State" marble.
  2. Sad to hear. My prayers go out to his family.
  3. Didier's "Vacor" website had been down for a little while. I finally emailed him and he messaged back that he was unaware of the breakdown (busy with real work (my words)). He found the problem with the server company and fixed it. Website is back up and Mega/Vacor collectors breathe a sigh of relief.
  4. Look like MK's. There are some with the transparent/translucent base.
  5. He uses his name at the beginning so people know it is his marble. He has a good reputation so in buying marbles online, it is good to know the seller and their reputation before buying, especially if you are a new collector. You don't want to get ripped off.
  6. Just curious on what happens if buyer disputes - doesn't eBay side with Buyer and refund money automatically? Or does eBay side with seller on the "no returns" stated in the listing?
  7. And, by the way, it is machine made - no rod attached, etc.
  8. Thank you for sharing Ron - beautiful collection and unusual pieces.
  9. Ron would probably have to give you approximate dates but they were in business in the 30's & 40's so I would surmise that these would be from the 40's?
  10. Good variety of marbles. From the views, the majority seem to be newer marbles from the last 20-30 years.
  11. Very sad news. I enjoyed communicating with her over the years. Very helpful on the European marble scene.
  12. Alox makes sense to me. There are some questions on bags being filled later on (not back in the 50-60's when these first came out) but...?
  13. Sorry to hear this. Prayers to his family and friends.
  14. I just heard from Pete that the Land of Marbles is now out of business. Pete has supported the marble hobby for well over 20 years and it is sad to see that part of it go away. The chat board is still there. I have not heard from him on what is happening with that.
  15. Lower left and middle are Peltier. Lower right may be one also. Upper left may be Vitro or Akro - tough to tell.
  16. OK Steph - now you have to identify the marble(s) in each day. That'll help everyone.
  17. The transparent swirls are sometimes quite hard to ID to a particular maker.
