rockgardenplants Posted May 7, 2021 Report Share Posted May 7, 2021 Here is one of two Wigers that I have. This one is listed on ebay right now (ending Wednesday, May 12). In hand, it looks wet mint. The photographs changed my mind on that grade. It's pretty easy to see that there is "pocketwear". Since my wife was "retired" after 36 years with one company, we're coming to the point when some marbles and other items need to be liquidated. Surely, this is a thread that I have marked! Posted May 7, 2021 Report Share Posted May 7, 2021 Yes love the broken cork patter, checkerboard is my favorite but as you know VVHTF. 23/32nds wet superboy, the cork actually almost makes it on this one, starting points at the top & bottom are visible & the break is visible in the center of this pic. I need to take a few more pix with better views. I noticed your wiger right away when it came up, I have a pic of mine as well, not as nice but still a wiger. Posted May 13, 2021 Report Share Posted May 13, 2021 A "wiger" has a base of equal amounts of orange & red, or very near to it, with black ribbons or swirls, unlike a tiger or a wasp, wiger's usually don't have av. at least I have never seen one, but as usual, they do exist as their is an exception to every rule. Most wiger's I've seen are between 5/6ths & 11/16ths. A nova is on black or occasionally white base & most commonly has ribbons on varying in color from salmon to white and everywhere in between, sizes will vary a bit but almost all of them were 7/8ths, to near 1". Nova's, root beer floats & pink Champaign's were all part of a one day run at the pelt plant in late 1988. Peltier wiger's No av in this one just HVY pocket ware. A great example One with av. from the "Peltier marbles info site" I believe Chuck Sumner (cheese) is the owner.
