Show Us Your Bottles!

Shout out to Chad and friends in Washington State! Missing a little bit of the tag and seal but love all the bottles Jim Beam made over the years. Some states are more difficult to find than others, per production numbers, don't think Washington state is too difficult to find. But this was my first time coming across one in the wild. $15, why not? 😊

Sorry to stray from glass, but I wanted to share this flask I found a few months ago and this would be the appropriate thread! I don't recall ever seeing/finding one made in Occupied Japan, a somewhat small timeframe in history. Overall it's in pretty good condition for being a steel piece. $5 at a second hand store in Iowa.

Nice Al !   This is what got me collecting soda pop bottles. Like you, I collected the bottle hangers with marbles. Then started getting the bottles that matched the hangers. Then it just kept going. Not collecting any more now unless full and I am out of room for the full ones. It was just vintage soda bottles and then it was vintage full soda pop bottles. Then it was vintage full soda pop bottles in original cartons, wood, metal, and cardboard six packs.

Wish I still had my unopened bottles of soda pop. They were parting gifts from me too friends in Jacksonville, Florida back in 93' before I moved up north. They have good homes though! My favorite was an unopened 6 pack of Florida/Georgia football bottles. They made them for the famous Gator/Bulldog games back in the day. Quite the big deal back then, that game each year!

I found a huge dump... huge as in the city dump from the 1820s to 1920s. It covers many many acres and you can fill semi trucks with the bottles there. I haven't dug it in over 10 years but there are tons of bottles like these. If the market ever gets good for these old bottles, I'll have to visit it more often. I used to go with a big frame hiking pack and a shovel and axe. I had so many bottles but gave most away after getting tired of being surrounded by so many old bottles. We found some straight sided coke bottles too, glass insulators, opium bottles, poison bottles, a hutchinson or two, old fruit jars, etc...

The last time I dug was in Florida in a small bamboo forest that was a known dumping area years ago. Before I moved up here in 93' I dug and found a Waycross, Georgia lisence plate dated 1967, an old tv screen with the green glass intact (made a table out of it), and a pink glass champagne bottle holder, which I still have 😊

Neato.  Had to read up on those. Had seen 'em in pictures but never really thought about them.

Little bit of age on these...I had too look into it also before I got it. Out of 3, the only blob top...

Love those 19th century Mason's! Don't see them alot out in the wild anymore, at least I don't. Probably because the Midwest is canning central 😉 it's impossible to find lids and seals around here when making batches of salsa. The last 2 times I went looking I had to buy a flat of jars just for the lids. Retailers can't keep them on the shelves. Been this way 2 seasons now.
