I shouldn't have narrowed my guess to Mexican. I do remember now reading about onxy being quarried in the Southwestern U.S. I don't know about Alabaster.

Those would be some nifty and unusual foreigns if that's what they are. I like the hybrid Whitie idea, but would the wideness of the purple ribbon work against that guess? Translation: I can't help you narrow this down.
