  1. Thanks, Nancy, for posting the link and thanks to ackiedee for bringing it to our attnetion - good article!
  2. I use AOL Browser and sometimes IE - I just right click on the mouse and 'save picture'. Sometimes, like with pics on this board, you have to move the mouse to a certain spot in the picture before right clicking to save.
  3. Kevin's (out of Texas) display - all Vacor Atmosphere marble - all in the 1 inch range
  4. There's a informal marble get together in northern California pretty soon. Sami Arim is coordinating it. Galen probably has info also. I'll message you Sami's email through the board and you can contact him. The Vegas Show isa good one to go to also.
  5. I'm not aware of addresses being on any of the marble boards. I know I haven't posted mine on any boards. So I don't think it's any Board problem. If anyone is diligent over the years, they could have obtained most of the marble collector's addresses one way or the other. I know I keep a list for my use in case I need to contact anyone.
  6. What area do you live in? There may be a marble group or maybe even a marble show nearby.
  7. Here are some other pics - two from Block's old auctions and one from the 2007 Amana Show that someone had posted
  8. I don't even see any 'potential' in that last one - maybe $10 worth
  9. Got the book in the mail today - will read tonight. Thanks for the quick service.
  10. Looks like a good book - good work - and money sent...
  11. I just got the latest list in the mail from MCSA (Stan Block) amd there was not a show listed for Michigan.
  12. That looks like one to me.
  13. In my database beside the mikeswes.... ID, I also had this for an old eBay ID old_marbles_for_you His last name begins with Re...., correct?
  14. Great pics, Edna - looks like you had a fine time!
  15. Was that on eBay? I didn't notice that auction if it was. I have one with 35 white crossthrus - haven't seen one with 50. Here's a pic of mine.
  16. How sad but great photos! Thanks for sharing.
  17. I know Tom was bidding on them but not sure if he won or not. He has a lot of them.
  18. That looks like a broken dumbbell and, yup, those do happen when going down the rollers. The marbles hook up while hot and voila...
  19. Cool work of 'art' and time, Rich. From time to time many collectors have tried to pick 'perfect' letters or numbers where you don't have to look through other markings on the marbles but your idea is a good one. I think I have a 3 somewhere but I'll have to look for it. Of course, if I turn the 3 upside down, I'd have an E. Here's a pic of one I won't give up - a rare two letter one that Bo gave me a few years ago - OR (for Oregon).
  20. I agree. Those are fantasy bags. Alox did not make the Army, Navy, Air Force series. I do have other Alox bags with a variety of other marbles, like MK. I thought the ones with MK's are fantasy bags also even if Alox did buy from other manufacturers but ... I also understand that Alox bags and headers were available separately and may have just been filled with other company marbles. Here are some pics.
  21. Here is Bill Tow's picture of the Les Jones Memorial Marble
