If you're seeing tiny differences within the groups of cat's eyes, then I'll say they don't matter much. For most of the cat's eyes there you'll get a general answer of "Asian". The ones with the clearest base glass could be "early", as in 1960's or late 50's. Other times what will seem like tiny differences to you -- like in the marbles that we call "swirls" or marbles from the various patch companies -- might seem like big differences to us. There's so much to learn about marbles. Can't think of any good rule of thumb for learning ID's.

The so-called Red Angel they have posted is a basic Rainbo. The Blue Angel is not Pelt, but not sure what. I'm looking through Vacor styles now.

I believe this to be more than a typical number of colors for this style. I recall mine as having three colors apiece.

I think the ox happens by accident. Oxblood is a copper based coloring, as are some blues and greens. Not sure about the reds, but when I see ox in them I guess they must have been. So I think the ox just happens sometimes when people were trying to get those other colors.

German clay. I think the color layer might come off with water.

Here's a pic taken by the granddaughter of the founder of Alox showing a range of their marbles including their big sparkler types. It was questioned whether Alox made them or bought them from Master. Since I've seen similar in Master packaging, I'm pretty sure Master. And though Alox was known to make swirls and some patches, there were also known to jobber marbles from other makers.

Maybe a "European Sparkler".

Three marbles? The first is a West Virginia Swirl. I'm thinking maybe Ravenswood. I'll go all in and suggest (hope for) Ravenswood on the middle marble also. I think I'm seeing an Akro corkscrew on the last. Or a "lazy corkscrew" if the ribbon doesn't make a full rotation.

Welcome Christian. It's nice to see which marbles have found their way to different parts of the world. You will have mostly non-U.S. marbles which @Mojomarblelicious has seen can be a challenge for us to identify, but we can narrow down a lot of them for you. But I'm pretty sure I'm at least seeing some Vitros in your group. Vitro sent a lot of marbles to Europe. The marbles in your hand are mostly Asian cat's eyes. Basically post some in the ID forum. About four marbles per ID thread is manageable for us, if they are clearly identifiable by number or by position in a group photograph. Feel free to start as many separate ID threads as you'd like.

I've seen it in the earliest Vitro marbles that I know of. Some helmets will glow, for instance. It would have become unavailable during WWII and then for about 15 years after that. Some cat's eyes have uranium glow. Not sure about the non-cat's eye types from the 60's and beyond since it has been a long time since I have checked, but I bet some do. I don't know if it made it all the way to 1990. I guess I could take a blacklight to my Anacortes bag .... BRB. Well, that was a dud. I think I see a little bit of green glow. But not even enough to be sure. So my small sample of the latest era Vitros is not helpful in answering the question.

12 weeks old. Bear is 3 pounds, 1 oz. Punkin is 1 pound, 14 oz. They're crazy people. They adore each other but that doesn't stop them from playing the most violent games of chase and trying to kill each other for about an hour a day. Punkin is able to move very fast when he has a goal in mind (such as getting to a food dish or chasing his sister) but he doesn't go exploring the way Bear does. Thus he doesn't know his way around the house as well as she does. But he has the tiniest, most adorable little squeak when he wants help with something ... and he gets what he wants. I still haven't taken a lot of videos. Here's one with Punkin's new favorite toy.
