  1. This is the thing--it is a vey dark marble and if was meant to be sold as a colorfull swirl--to catch the eye so to speak--it would have not been so dark. My favorite saying is-"Backlight them all" and I love that you did this. This may have been an "experimental" color combo that was found in the "Digs" from any amount of Digs. It may have been used as a game marble after the color combo failed--the size is right. Regardless--you have a nice find that many would not have not found without the proper research. Light it up and display It. Marble--On!!
  2. I agree wtih Melissa--these look like game marbles to me such as would have come with a "Chinese Checkers" game. Unless you really know your Akro these are hard to ID--game marbles. It always involves backlighting them--that being said--you may have a few "Akro Flinties" invloved. These were included by hapinstance in the game filled boxes These are a hard call but if you back-light them they will show a fish-eye effect, this is hard to descibe but they actually look less solid colored than in hand and there will be this mesmerizing effect when back-lit---like a fish eye. Yes. I know the fish eye has been described as the little slits on either cutoff mark but many Akro Marbles will show these. The Akro Flinties also show an opalescent glow to them went back lit--the reds browns are a hard tell though. Hope this helps-- Marble--On!!
  3. Welcome alicats99 to "TheMarbleConnection". We are all sad to hear of your hubby passing but what you say about him resonates with many here . What has been said above is all true—just a few at a time. If you can pick out any with over two colors involved you may have a great start to deciphering what you have there. Maybe, just maybe, we can convince you into collecting these cute little orbs. They take up little room and are easy to dust if you display them right. We all will advise you in a respectfull fashion. Bring them on!! Marble—On!!
  4. Nice group for sure--these caged cats are some of the best ever made imho. Marble--On!!
  5. Wow!--- Two very similar marbles. Alans shows oxblood imho--A very nice Akro Patch imho-- Fires is just different in the same way but lacking any Ox. I do not know Kokomo's very well but a few here have agreed with that so I am on board. This is a nice post--lets keep it going that way😇. Marble--On!!
  6. This is a Vitro Conqueror with armor involved. I just love this stuff— Marble—On!!
  7. Welcome David to "TheMarbleConnection". Just a killer way to introduce yourself with this fine example. Show us all some more for sure. Marble--On!!
  8. Pretty cool--- The Jabo contracts are known --some of them--to be very dark until they are hit with light. This one apears to have some"Pocket wear". WVS imho--vintage--probably Alley Agate. Nice images--nice desciption as well. Marble--On!!
  9. I agree with Al here--check out "Andys" book on Vacors--just maybe a Vacor. Marble--On!!
  10. I think that this one is a WVS--not a slag. It could be the brighness of the images--but I am seeing a third color here. Marble--On!!
  11. Nice Vitro! Sushi??---great stuff! Size alway matters--- Marble--On!!
  12. This one was lost----then found in the dryer. It still looks nice--sqeakie clean too😁 7/8"--a pocket marble that went too far. Marble--On!!
  13. MK Monday it is--here are a few--- Marble--On!!

  15. Thanks for showing them--you did well--- Marble--On!!
  16. Well--we all know that Alan looks but this one took me awhile to find--the "I". Nice find Alan! I have no clue on the maker--nice marble--if you like it keep it--if selling it--good luck. I believe that @William may have some knowledge of this signature--maybe @Melissa as well. Marble--On!!
  17. This is not stupid at all Fire. I learned from it as well as many members that saw it. I will not get rid of it based on the lack of responses. Many may think that these that you show are worth much more than they should be. This post may put the brakes on some bad buys--those seeking what these are not---- Nice post--show some more imho. Marble--On!!
  18. For a two color marble this one sticks out like a sore thumb. Nice find! Nice images as well. I think Alley Agate here--maybe @cheese will stop by and give his opinion as well. All opinions are welcomed and appreciated. Marble--On!!
  19. Orange Akro slags are rare like hens teeth. I have never seen one in hand--I thought that I did plenty of times--nope. The amber slags that are over-filled with white fool me often. Take a good hard look in a variety of lighting comparing it to an amber slag. If it still looks orange--this one has to go to a show to get proper ID. Images will do no justice to it imho. I am not getting any CAC vibes here but I have been wrong plenty of times. More opinions are needed for sure and I appreciated seeing them all. Nice marble! Marble--On!!
  20. I am not quite sure either--It appears to be a Pelt to me--Maybe a "Dragon" no flaming here imho. I hope to see some more opinions. @Fire1981 knows this stuff for sure. Marble--On!!
  21. akroorka

    Vitro

X3---nice one though. Lets not let the right hand one out of the question---Pretty nice find imho. (it does look like it was "buffed") I do not even know what to call it--very nice! Get a refund imho. Marble--On!!
  22. I hate to even post on this one but it is an Akro imho. I just love this stuff--Id's. A patch that went wild--maybe from the digs years ago. All of the "dug Akro"--well most of them, have made it into the market. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. @Melissa knows her MK as well as anyone--lets's check in with her. Marble--On!!
  23. This is a common WVS--not a Jabo--vintage years. I like that you like it and that is why we collect--because we like it. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble--On!!
