Thüringen Thursday

It’s my understanding it has to do with how the ribbons are configured around the clear base glass. I bought it at a Phoenix show in 2004ish with few other hand mades from a Seller who only sold German hand mades. I didn’t really focus on handmade ID’s after that. All I know it’s a Submarine and I thought that was cool.

First the "Beast"  still 2" @ the widest point, even hammered on like it is !!

Now the belly of the "Beast" I illuminated it with my maglite to get a good look @ the construction looking for any remnants of an inner core.

I probably already posted these,  my baby Brothers favorite Antique marbles "Sulphides" he called the "Picture Marbles"  commons but that's what I like.

First a Donkey @ 2 & 1/16th"

A super clean "Barnyard Pig" @ 1.54" w/ only the slightest bit of trapped air around the figure.

The solid opaques and Melonballs(highly underrated mibs)were the first handmade I collected years ago when I was a kid, usually lazy dealers would have them mixed in with the machine mades…..so I usually made out. The banded opaques I just love. These are my keepers.

Yeah, that's a great marble - they don't come much cleaner!

Nice group, Dave - lots of pink. It reminds me of a big collection I purchased from a woman around here who had collected for a long time - lots of pink and pastel colors on both hand-mades and machine-mades.
