I love the Akro imprint on the top of the box as well as the side stamp, very old imho. Top Notch for sure. I just love it! Marble--On!!

Supposedly 99.9% of all the Indian Blankets & Superman corks were dug, especially the large examples. no direct knowledge but just what I've gathered from people who dug them ?? I know they're both inherent for having fractures in the translucent red color. I think a "so called" Indian blanket has to have opaque black ribbons to be considered an Indian Blanket ?? Here's a couple to look at, only the red is translucent. The base glass appears to be opaque yellow ?? Yours is still an outstanding mib Rick, just wondering do the darker ribbons appear to be black or amber, might just be the light in your pix ?? Another pic of the bigger of the two taken indoors showing the black and red ribbons corking around the yellow base glass.
Berryb
The Syracuse knife co. is a trade mark used by Camillus from 1935-40 so that prob'ly helps date the box. Thanks Bruce

akroorka
The box is the one thing that may determine age in this instance. The marbles and knife may have been backfilled, very likely backfilled. The box is older Akro imho. My opinion is based on the print of the logo and the print on the ends of the box. I believe that to get an idea of the age of this rare item, we must consider all things and not loose track what the main item is ---the box. Research for advertisements is in order. Marble—On!!! Berryb
The knife is used/sharpened, but finding another knife that fits that box, that exactly would be very difficult. If found I would say it would be a knife of the same period. I can check with the experts If I have permission to use the photos. These guys would look at it from a knife perspective and may have seen the box before. Thanks Bruce

The logo is a very fine printing. The detail is top notch. This box may have been produced by the knife company for the Akro folks. This could explain the difference in the logo, letter font and the glossy paper that this box has. If the Knife company produced the box it could explain a lot. This is a very cool item here that is worthy of any investigation and attention. Thanks for sharing it. Marble—On!!
Chad G.
"Happy Akro Friday" I know I've posted this marble before but this time an explanation of exactly where it came from & what it is. I.D. as an Akro French Drain marble, w/ an olive colored base glass and the familiar Akro construction including a nice patch of oxblood. Most of the French drain marbles were on the large size, this is a smaller one at nearly 11/16ths". For being found or "dug" this marble is in immaculate shape.
