  1. Hi. I agree. All machine-made. Two possibly vintage American cat's eyes and one modern Asian marble.
  2. I agree with Vacor on that iridescent one. This one also has a strong Vacor feel to it. I think Vacor Old Fashion:
  3. I'm not at all sure on the second one. Swirly Vitro or unswirly WV swirl? I don't recognize it. I was spitballing.

    Funday Friday

I did it! I stopped in at the antique mall. Well, hubby and I didn't just stop in. We spent quite a long time going up and down all the aisles. He was helping me find marbles. I found so many actually that I chose to leave some behind. They weren't fantastic. The best thing I left behind was vintage bag of Marble King cat's eyes. If it was the only thing I found I would have gotten it and counted myself lucky, but it was priced a bit high, and I already found this bunch for $25. And that was enough. One jar of "stuff" which was priced at $5 and had a few marbles, including the shooter bumblebee, and a ceramic figurine from Japan, and other fun non-marble things. Then there was a $20 jar which was half full of big red clearies ... and I LOVE clearies. And it had other decent marbles, including a bunch of cross-through cat's eyes. And the jar itself was a blue mason jar with a zinc lid. So it was a good day. I'm gonna need to research that marble with the green center ribbon and the red and blue patches on the ends. I get a Vitro feel from it, though the colors seem more Marble King-ish.
  5. I hope you can get some trading partners. But as I mentioned in another thread, I hope you don't get rid of something that you'll regret not having later. I have a smallish collection myself. Thousands of marbles, true, but a much smaller set which would be worth sending to someone in the Netherlands, and most of those nicer ones were gifts. So, that's why I didn't jump in right away to say how fun this idea really does sound.
  6. Leaning Pelt Rainbo on #1. Leaning Vitro on #2.
  7. There's a bit of Akro look to these. I want Ricardo Mendoza here to see if he thinks you could have 1960's Vacors. He has shown us they were very colorful and a little bit American looking.
  8. For the ones which are in doubt -- which currently is the vast majority -- I would encourage you not to make rush decisions about them. As we learn more about them, they could turn out to have more recognized value, and you might be sad if you parted with them too soon.

    ID PLZ

No particular value. It's called a "clearie". Clearies were made by many companies and are practically impossible to ID even if you know they're American. The glow is fun but doesn't give much value to the marble. Jewelry is a good use for it.
  10. That black ribbon is slick.
  11. Thanks for the peek. No id.
  12. Green-based banana as Bogard? I wonder if I will remember that next time I see one similar. I've tended to assume Master on such. I wonder if I already knew better ... the notion of Bogard bananas is starting to maybe sound like something I might have heard of before ....
  13. Here are some pix of marbles from South America: https://marbleconnection.com/topic/7087-marbles-from-south-america
  14. All I can say is they're nice. I don't think they're very new. Those styles were introduced in America in the 1930's. They could have spread to Asia or Europe or South America in later decades. (I just remembered South America. There were some rather American-looking marbles made in Brazil and/or Argentina. I should have remembered it before during our attempts to list all the possible sources for your fascinating marbles.)
  15. You still have some very nice ones. I LOVE this one. The trading idea intrigued me, but I just know myself and know I'm not in a good position to trade.
  16. They're beautiful. I suspect Asian and would guess maybe 1960's. That's a wild guess on the decade. But mostly I'm saying I don't think they are very new.
  17. Those greens on the top row? I understand your uncertainty. I'm gonna go with Akro ... or Vitro. The long straight seams and the shredded look make me think not Master.
  18. I was thinking maybe CAC on the yellow and red. But I don't know for sure on either of the red ones. Beyutiful Pistachio.
  19. *waves at eggie* I don't know if it would be vintage or modern. I could see it going either way. Just saying hi.
  20. I am pretty sure that there were Vitros sold in Europe which look different from what we got here. I seem to recall seeing a labeled Vitro bag which looked foreign. So there's still a possibility of some of the foreign-looking marbles being American ... but I don't know how we could know ... if they weren't the ones we find in packaging here.
  21. Yes, the top one looks like a classic Pelt Rainbo and the yellows are in the gray zone. Could be Pelts. Could be wannabes.
