PittsburghMarbles
I just helped appraise someone’s marble collection they got from their grandpa, spent hours separating them and telling him what they’re worth and the guy gave me these big honkin Germans and an assortment of Akro slags etc for a very good price, can’t freaking believe it. And yes I’m currently stuck in non moving traffic so I wasn’t taking pics and driving…

Chad G.
Not that exciting but to me a score around here 1, 13/16ths" a walking bear sulphide. 2 small fleas and very minimal pocket wear , looks terrible in the pic, dirty, and lots of fingerprints. I'll retake tomorrow. My best friend passed 2 years ago and was an avid bear hunter, I have a trinket box bear with a marble in it given me by him already but always wanted to get one of these for him. At $60.oo I said yes, something I've wanted for quite some time. Again forgive the bad pic, sulphides are ,in my book, the "hardest" marble there is to photograph.

PittsburghMarbles
Since Im new here, Ill share all my scores since about April this year from jar finds and antique stores. I go out every weekend driving all over creation in the search for marbles and I'm lucky since I live so close to WV. A 1930s or so solitaire box full of all Japanese Transitional marbles and for 15 bucks, I couldn't believe it. Found it in Niagara, NY. Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr This nice akro ash tray for 5 bucks at a glass show. Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr The rest are jar finds and most of the jars were under 15 bucks from garage sales and antique stores. Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr Got these pelts out of three jars from one garage sale and for next to nothing, don't think Ill ever get that lucky again. PittsburghMarbles
^ Thank you. Found a Ravenswood Red Raven in a jar about 2 months ago, never thought I'd find one of those in the wild in a million years. I think it's the 22nd photo in my above series. Also found a pretty rare for America, a German striped opaque, think its the 37th photo. Got those marbles in that photo out of a guys collection that was in a fishing lure box. He had some really nice CAC's too in there and even a Kokomo.
schmoozer
I am at the point where I will buy a jar of marbles just to get a single keeper, then give the jar back to the seller. I have too many commons and contemps already in jars. It makes me happy, and the seller is thrilled to be able to resell the jar👍👍👍
PittsburghMarbles
^ I should start doing that, I have thousands of common or modern marbles that just take up space and I have no place for from jars.

Wow, you have found some great marbles in the past few months. The bags are newish but you could probably get a better idea of a date by looking up when they changed the choking hazard warning from 3 yrs to 5 yrs (it may even be 6 yrs now). It looks like someone had some NOS and managed to get $12 a bag for it, and there are some pretty nice marbles in there. But the marble that grabbed my attention is this one: from this pic: Any chance you could show me some more of it?

But they are all late alleys, no idea who bagged them or why. And that photo of that marble you wanted closer pics of is a really nice alley. I'll have to go and take photos of it when I get home but I'm headed to Gettysburg right now for the weekend to dig on private property I got permission to dig and metal detect on, hope to find some sweet civil war era relics. But theres another view of that marble in my last photo I posted, the top marble in my hand.
PittsburghMarbles
Had a nice score at an estate sale today. Bunch of akro patches, a metallic alley I believe, a double ingot (not sure who made it), maybe a Ravenswood (the blue and teal swirl), a nice pelt rainbo, a vitro helmet and a weird oxblood thats transparent (the red one). Chad G.
Heaton did make some incidental Metalics. The one in this picture has Heatons version of oxblood. They often called horsehair, I have several like it, I know it's Heaton because of the ear shape you caught perfectly in your pic, I'll post a pic of a few I have also. These are all green based glass w/ whitish colored swirls in them, I have some w/ red base & blue as well. Search "named Heaton types" & you'll see Chucks post on the named Heaton thus far and also pics of the many unnamed, many containing "Ox hair" and or oxblood, the color of it varies greatly in the dug examples, have fun wading through all the pics. Hang on I'll post the links for you !! LINK : https://marbleconnection.com/topic/26001-named-heaton-types/ Yours LINK :https://marbleconnection.com/topic/26187-dug-heaton-mib-pics/ There are many. many killer examples of Heatons similar to yours in this next link, many one of a kind examples. Enjoy Chris & I hope this clears it up just a little for ya, I'm still astounded at the shear number of different marbles they produced. PittsburghMarbles
Sorry to be posting so much on here but Ive gotten super lucky the past few weeks. Found all of this at some antique stores yesterday. Everywhere I went had good marbles, which never happens. Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr Here's some that Ive taken out of the jars after looking through them at the stores, still have loads of marbles to go through, hopefully there's some gems I overlooked. Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr Bunch still to go through. Untitled by Pittsburgh Marbles, on Flickr
